PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION WALKTHROUGH
Prepare a flat substrate
For large-format tile, keep variation within 1/8 in over 10 ft. Fill low areas with self-leveling compound; do not use mastic.
Set balanced centerlines
Snap perpendicular chalk lines through the room center. Dry-lay test rows and adjust to avoid narrow perimeter cuts.
Use LHT mortar and back-butter
Apply mortar with a 1/2 x 1/2 in square-notch trowel. Back-butter each tile to target at least 95% coverage.
Allow a full cure
Keep foot traffic off the installation for 24 hours before grouting or loading the surface.
